Pickin' Strawberries - Toddler Fun... for 'bout 10 minutes!

Elena in her cutest berry picking outfit

Such a good little helper - though she enjoyed moving the berries back and forth and picking little white ones.

You'd never guess that in about 10 minutes she'd be walking all over the plants and Jen would have to take her out of the patch!

Absolutely sweet and cute!

We had a lot of fun - once we found the our way to the strawberry farm. Elena was extremely patient while we found our way - and she wasn't even watching Teletubbies!

There were a fair amount of people there and it was of no surprise because the day was unbelievable! Mid 70's and low humidity. If only I remembered my sunblock.

Jen helped Elena do some picking while I took some pictures and got down on my knees. After a while it was evident that Elena didn't quite get the idea of picking RIPE berries and NOT walking across the rows - something the proprietors told us was strictly forbidden. :-)

Once we realized a meltdown was imminent, Jen took Elena to play and I continued another half hour until our tray was full. As it turned out, it was full indeed! 14 lbs of strawberries! The only bad part about so many berries is you've got to clean them pretty soon or plan on wasting many. Thanks to Jen for doing some serious berry prep.

Tomorrow morning... whole wheat pancakes with strawberries OR waffles and strawberries. Hmm... maybe even some Crepes?! Good Eats!

Sorry it's been so long since the last post. Bye all!
