Halloween 2010

Elena tries on her peacock outfit. So cute!

Poor baby Drew gets Elena's old ladybug outfit...

Elena enjoys riding in the wagon and walking house to house!

So I know I've been really bad with not updating this blog for anyone who likes... um... updates. Here's a few pictures from Halloween this year. To say we're busy is an understatement, but the kids are great and Drew is such a good baby. I might say if anything I'm a bit lazy but I have TONS of pictures, it's just getting them online that's my Achilles heel. Hope everyone is doing well.

Elena masters the tricycle

Not the best picture quality (cell phone video cam) but she sure can roll! (And not even 2 & 1/2 yet... proud papa grins to himself).

Pickin' Strawberries - Toddler Fun... for 'bout 10 minutes!

Elena in her cutest berry picking outfit

Such a good little helper - though she enjoyed moving the berries back and forth and picking little white ones.

You'd never guess that in about 10 minutes she'd be walking all over the plants and Jen would have to take her out of the patch!

Absolutely sweet and cute!

We had a lot of fun - once we found the our way to the strawberry farm. Elena was extremely patient while we found our way - and she wasn't even watching Teletubbies!

There were a fair amount of people there and it was of no surprise because the day was unbelievable! Mid 70's and low humidity. If only I remembered my sunblock.

Jen helped Elena do some picking while I took some pictures and got down on my knees. After a while it was evident that Elena didn't quite get the idea of picking RIPE berries and NOT walking across the rows - something the proprietors told us was strictly forbidden. :-)

Once we realized a meltdown was imminent, Jen took Elena to play and I continued another half hour until our tray was full. As it turned out, it was full indeed! 14 lbs of strawberries! The only bad part about so many berries is you've got to clean them pretty soon or plan on wasting many. Thanks to Jen for doing some serious berry prep.

Tomorrow morning... whole wheat pancakes with strawberries OR waffles and strawberries. Hmm... maybe even some Crepes?! Good Eats!

Sorry it's been so long since the last post. Bye all!

Our little lady

Mom and Elena hide in the corner cabinet

Elena reads books while indisposed

She's not really doing anything yet, just practicing I guess

Mom's big boots are more fun than mine
We've been having lots of fun with Elena recently. She's really starting to get personality and also moods. Boy can she get moody.

She loves breakfast. It's probably her favorite meal of the day. Pancakes especially but sometimes just Cheerios or Froot Loops in bed. Oops... shouldn't admit that.

Elena will usually try anything once... unless she just doesn't like the look of it. This holds true when it comes to Mexican food. She'll eat refried beans and rice and loves Taco Bell bean burritos but still won't touch a chicken nugget. Go figure.

We're sick of the snow and even though early on we got Elena out to play in it a few times neither Jen nor I had the desire to drive to a good sled riding hill. Next year for sure.

We're hoping to have a fun spring coming up with finally being able to go outdoors and visit some parks and do some cycling and hiking. We're also planning a spring trip to Great Wolf Lodge or similar with Elena's 2 cousins and family. Should make for a wet and wild time.

Jen is just entering her 2nd trimester. Yes, we're preggers again. We've heard a heartbeat, but we're a ways away from the ultrasound still - probably another 6 weeks or so.

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the sunshine. LOVE IT!
